Connections. That’s the theme of this year’s annual report and the basis behind all the engagement, social justice and advocacy, and educational work NCJW/CLE imparts in the community.

September 15

Kathy Najimy took us on her journey from Acting to Activism at NCJW/CLE’s Opening Meeting.



November 17

​Historian Deborah Lipstadt headlined the 2020 Lois Zaas Memorial Advocacy Lecture. She talked about the changing face of anti-Semitism.



December 8

Leslie Odom Jr. a ​Grammy award-winning recording artist, television and film actor, and performer, dialogued with his mentor and father-in-law Stuart K. Robinson, followed by a mini-concert performance. And we were all in the “Zoom” Room where it happened!



February 4

In partnership with the JCC Book Festival, Bess Kalb, author of Nobody Will Tell You This But Me" talked to audience members about her memoir of her beloved grandmother's words of wisdom.



March 9

Nwaka Onwusa, Vice President of Curatorial Affairs & Chief Curator at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame spoke about the leadership and the vision that led her to become one of Cleveland’s most rockin’ women.

To improve the lives of women, children and families, in the midst of a Pandemic, NCJW/CLE volunteers actively worked to meet the needs of the community, some of them amplified more than ever before.

Coffee Connections

In 2020 people needed connection more than ever. NCJW/CLE created Coffee Connections as a way for members to get together virtually and catch up. Each month also spotlighted a select NCJW/CLE program for members to get involved in.

Letter Writing Campaign

To motivate low propensity and new voters to head to the polls in 2020, NCJW/CLE members partnered with the national Vote Forward campaign and wrote more than 500 heart-felt handwritten letters, encouraging people to vote.

Mask Making

When NCJW/CLE learned that community partners, like Bellefaire and MetroHealth, were in need of masks for healthcare workers and patients, volunteers got to work sewing. NCJW/CLE volunteer distributed over 3,800 hand-made masks.

Virtual Programs

To help our members laugh, think deeper, and feel a little less isolated during the pandemic, NCJW/CLE hosted a series of weekly virtual programs, featuring speakers like Kathy Najimy, Dr. Amy Acton and Leslie Odom Jr.

NCJW/CLE recognizes those who have gone above and beyond to make the community better for women, children and families

Named after the founder of NCJW, Hannah G. Solomon is comprised of donors who contribute $1,800 or more to the Annual Fund.

AS SEEN ON SOCIAL MEDIA

NCJW/CLE delivers fun and fashion through Thriftique Showroom and Designer Dress Days. We’re able to give back to women, children and families because of the generous donations made by the community.

NCJW/CLE recognizes volunteers who have gone above and beyond to make the community better for women.

Longtime NCJW/CLE supporter Stanley Adelstein valued and understood the importance of communicating successes with the community which is why he, and his wife Hope, endowed the annual report. Their memories will forever be a blessing.
